This site describes our trip to Glacier National park in 2006. It was our fourth roadtrip out west for a week+ of camping, hiking, and backpacking. This trip we spent 3 nights at Cut Bank campground, and from there we dayhiked to Otokami Lake and to Medicine Grizzly Lake.

Next on the agenda was a dayhike from Logans Pass to Granite Park Chalet, a night at the chalet, and a hike out to Many Glacier over Swiftcurrent Pass. The Red Eagle fire changed these plans as Going To The Sun Road was closed, as was Route 89 between Cut Bank and Babb. This required us to start at St Mary and go into Granite Park over Swiftcurrent Pass. To get to Many Glacier required a detour east through Browning on Route 464 and Duck Lake Road.

Next was a night in the cabins at Swiftcurrent, a drive to Waterton, and a backpacking trip from Goat Haunt to Chief Mountain Customs staying at Mokowanis Junction, Glenn Lake Foot, and Elizabeth Lake Foot.

Finally a night at the Many Glacier Hotel and the long drive back to Illinois.
